A record 4-time FIFA player of the year, Barcelona decided Messi deserved a raise, so they gave him an extra $9 million a year. This means Messi now will earn $50 million annually through 2018. He has even more funds coming in via his sponsors including Samsung who turned him into Iron Man in their Avengers promo. Then again, his slew of records on the field does make him kind of a superhero.
