Etta James – Gastric Bypass Surgery/200 Pounds

Etta James started pursuing a singing career back in the 1950s and she later became a star, mainly after her hit songs like Something’s Got a Hold on Me, The Wallflower, and At Last. In the early 2000s, James had successfully shed more than 200 pounds. She did not lose weight the natural way though, for she actually got a gastric bypass surgery. She slimmed down dramatically from a whopping 400 pounds and she claimed that her voice had greatly improved, too. James passed away in 2012 after she lost her battle with leukemia.
