The two had their first meeting in 1985 and it seemed like they just instantly clicked because they decided to get married in the same year during Madonna’s birthday. Madonna’s career was on an all-time high during their marriage and she even dedicated her album, True Blue, to him. However, as Penn was quite troubled just two years after they got married, he ended up facing arrest after he assaulted a photographer. Months after his arrest, Madonna hired a divorce lawyer and filed for a divorce.
